Arsenal forward Thierry Henry believes that Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard is clearly not happy with the tactics of manager Jose Mourinho and this could be one of the reasons for his poor form this season.
After winning the PFA Player of the Year award last season, the Belgian international was expected to kick on and potentially challenge for the FIFA Ballon d’Or award. However,Hazard has regressed in every form and this has also been true of the whole Chelsea team. The blues are languishing near the bottom of the table at a time when they were expected to put a strong defence of the league title.
The club’s fortunes went from bad to worse after a 2-1 defeat against West Ham. This has led to media reports suggesting that Jose Mourinho could be out of Chelsea if the blues fail to win against Liverpool next week. Part of the reason lies in the inability to create chances. Chelsea are not scoring as they used to do, while the defence remains as shambles. Hazard was recently dropped and Mourinho criticised the lack of defensive help provided by the Belgian. Henry reckons that the 24-year-old is clearly not happy doing very defensive work since he wants to contribute more on the attacking front.
“I see a team that is not buying into what Mourinho wants any more.Hazard and Nemanja Matic for example. Matic was substituted against Southampton then went to play for Serbia and got sent-off. He then got sent off again at West Ham. Whether that was right or wrong, you can tell they are all on edge. The body language of Hazard suggests that he doesn’t want to play in the same way. Maybe Mourinho has to deal with his main players not accepting the way he likes to play,” said Henry.
