Colombian striker Radamel Falcao has been a major disappointment since his £ 6 million loan move to Manchester United.
After featuring in more than 20 games, he has struggled to even get 10 goals for the campaign. His season has been hit hard with a couple of niggling injuries, while manager Louis Van Gaal also appears to have lost faith in him. Considering that it will take an astonishing £ 43 million to make the move permanent, it is widely suggested that United will pass the opportunity to sign the 29-year-old on a permanent basis.
However, it seems that Falcao has not given up on the opportunity to impress in the last two months of the season. The striker says that he is ready to be available for the manager’s selection in the last eight games of the season. It will be a wonderful achievement if United reached the top four considering the strength of the competition. The team has a five point advantage over Liverpool in the fifth spot and they will finish in the top four irrespective of other teams if they win the remaining eight matches. Falcao appeared to get some of his form back while playing for Columbia in the friendly matches.
“I think when I score it’s always important and that gives me confidence. I said before I need minutes, I need to play games in a row and here in the national team I have had the opportunity. I gave my best and I scored and I now return to Manchester with more confidence. We have the last eight games … I will give my best to have the chance to play as many minutes as possible. I have said before I need to play. I need minutes and I am confident about me, about my fitness. I am confident,” said Falcao.
