Liverpool have been perfect this season winning all their games in the EPL and show no signs of relenting. Looking at Jurgen Klopp’s men it is easy to see how far the team has progressed since he took over four years ago. The backline, for example, had Martin Skrtel, MamadouSakho and an injury-prone Daniel Agger.
This has changed to the formidable duo of Virgil Van Dirk and Joel Matip, ably supported by the marauding full-backs in Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson. This defence has been the bedrock of the team helping to propel the club forward.
This season Liverpool have conceded the fewest goals despite missing shot-stopper Allison since September. Adrian has done an excellent job in covering for the Brazilian making decent and important saves in key matches.
The midfield has also improved with Klopp preferring a mechanical workmanlike midfield headed by club captain Jordan Henderson. Henderson is grossly underrated and has been able to retain his place in Klopp’s team despite initial criticism.
The England international dictates the tempo of the game with his crisp passing and ability to cover up distances. Fabinho has been an excellent signing despite having to be bedded into the first team last campaign.
The Brazilian is a beckon of assurance at the base of the midfield with his ability to cut off attacks and an excellent range of passing. He has been one of the unsung heroes in the past 12 months.
The attack is where the big guns reside with Sadio Mane, Mohammed Salah and Roberto Firmino forming the holy trinity. The trio are able to create, execute and bury chances that come their way, Mane, in particular, has been in inspired form this season scoring a goal almost every game to underline his star quality.
